The last term is flying by and the children are blossoming daily! Their literacy and numeracy is developing very well and most of the children graduating in December are able to form words and read words in their mother tongue, isiXhosa. These strong literacy foundations really set our children up for later educational success, which is really needed in our area. We are truely meeting our mission of helping rural Xhosa children become literate!
We hosted a great Parent Workshop last term about "How to keep your children safe" - the attendance was excellent and the mamas really enjoyed it.
Our two local teachers have been attending lots of training sessions and Professional Development Workshops and they are highly motivated and doing excellent presentations with the children. This is so lovely to observe :-)
The seven graduating children are doing School Readiness Assessements now and they are all well on track for Grade 1. We will be hosting a Graudation Ceremony in early December, as this is a big event in our rural areas. The mamas are so proud of their children!
Busy, happy days all round!
Thank you kindly for your support.
