Summary

The movie narrates a story about a 13-year-old Nawi finds out her father is selling her to a much older man for a herd of goats. Instead of obeying tradition she chooses to fight her impending marriage and embarks on a journey to reclaim her dream of joining high school. Since this is a reality of what happens in the remote Africa community Like Turkana, Startup Lions has decided to build a girls Highschool to secure girls from early childhood marriages.

Challenge

In Turkana, it is a tradition that young girls as from the age of 9 years are sold out for marriage at an early age, this has been a problem since most girls dreams are shuttered immediately they complete primary school, some of them are sold out for marriage even before they complete primary school

Solution

We have started building some classes to rescue girls from early marriage. this project will ensure that girls are rescued from early marriage, educated and get to meet their dream, through the movie NAWI we are bringing up the conversation of early child marriage so that the need to be addressed can be seen.

Long-Term Impact

Our protentional Long term impact is to end Early Child Marriage and rescue those who are married from gender based violence.
