Reinforcing training for Psicological treatment

By Yolanda Chimeno | Project Communication Manager

During the selection of psychologists to provide psychological care, the need to reinforce knowledge in psychotherapy to care for survivors of the conflict was emphasized again. Once the psychologists and social workers were trained, we entered the preparation phase of therapeutic care.

One of the objectives is to train staff with quality training so that professionals can provide excellent therapeutic support.

Within the trainings of the general Coopera program, thanks to the funds 1.600USD raised from April to July, we added 5 social workers who work in the area to receive training in modern techniques for the treatment of trauma and body resilience, a training of 10 days.

The therapeutic team hired by the coopera program, made up of 5 psychologists and 4 social workers, work to develop a group therapy structured in 16 sessions

The 16 sessions cover psychoeducation in the neurobiology of trauma and self-applicable techniques for the emotional management of their experiences.

Likewise, and in order to serve the largest number of people and that the distance from the MUTIMA Psychosocial Center is not a problem, two advanced clinics will be created in the towns of Katana and Kavumu.
