Four months later: much done and more to come!

By Victoria Di Gaetano | Communication and Development Coordinator

Hi Friends!

We are sending gratitude to You, our supporters, for your commitment to help teen girls be the leaders of today and tomorrow, especially in such difficult times as the recovery from the trauma and stress of the earthquake.

Since the beginning of the earthquake, we decided to concentrate our efforts and resources mainly in the distribution of menstrual products for women and girls affected by the earthquake. To date, we have distributed 40,000+ menstrual products in the Al Haouz region, as well as other basic hygiene products such as diapers and soap. The situation in the mainly affected areas is still critical and still requires a great deal of support and help, but the distribution of menstrual products constitutes a significant aid as it is one less worry for many families who are already in a situation of incertitude and disarray.

During one of the distributions of menstrual products, we had the opportunity to listen to several testimonies from the beneficiaries and one in particular stood out to us. She spoke to us about her experience during and in the aftermath of the earthquake, sharing with us stories of everything she lost, from family members to her parents’ house. But what really stood out to us was the fact that regardless of everything that happened to her, she wouldn’t stop talking about her hopes and dreams, and her plans to secure a better future not only for her and her family but for all those in need. She has a burning flame in her eyes and confidence in her voice. We still look up to her as a walking example of resilience and strength.

We want to thank you for helping girls and women accessing basic and essential needs such as menstrual and hygiene products in times of difficulties. By supporting this campaign you are making a difference! Never doubt you are!

Warmest wishes,

The Project Soar Team
