On September 8 a powerful 6.8 magnitude earthquake hit Morocco, causing a devastating loss of 2000+ lives and significant damage to infrastructures. It is essential to remember that menstruation does not stop during natural disasters, reason why Project Soar has decided to focus every effort on the collection and distribution of menstrual products, diapers & other first aid essential needs to women and girls living in the badly affected villages of the High Atlas region.
The 6.8 magnitude earthquake severely hit the High Atlas region of Morocco. Communication with the teen girls affected is still challenging as critical infrastructure has been affected by the earthquake. Girls and women living in the affected areas are in urgent need of menstrual products, diapers and other essential first aid needs.
Donations raised through this fund will support women and girls with menstrual products diapers and other essential first aid needs. A portion of this campaign's donations will be dedicated to expanding the reach of our sustainable menstrual kit - Soar x Hurya. This innovative kit, the first of its kind in Morocco, is specifically designed to support teen girls and women with limited financial resources, making it particularly suited for those affected by the earthquake.
Women and girls are extremely impacted by natural disasters as basic needs such as menstrual products are often forgotten. Needs change and evolve day after day in natural disasters like earthquakes, but menstruation does not stop and menstrual products are constantly needed items both in the short and long term.
