Dear Supporters,
In this quarter, the Karachi Down Syndrome Program (KDSP) has continued its monetary support initiative and provision of grocery bags for the families of individuals with Down syndrome in need.
In the month of April, 82 households who were still facing difficulties as an aftermath of the pandemic, were supported through grocery bags. These bags contained the best household staples such as flour, rice, lentils and other such items, and personal hygiene products such as soap so families could attain greater well-being. Through an e-payment platform called, "EasyPaisa" i.e. digital cash transfers, KDSP also helped 45 families monetarily to bear the expenses of items such as medicines and other necessities.
Some stories and testimonial from the field:
“The monthly cash transfers have really helped provide nutrition and healthcare to Muhammad. We would purchase his milk formula through the amount sent and would often spend it on his medication or doctor's fee since he falls sick frequently. Grateful to KDSP since this was our only hope during these trying times.” - Father of Muhammad
“Very thankful to KDSP for helping us through easypaisa cash disbursements. The money we received helped us provide medication for Abdul’s health.” - Mother of Abdul.
Thank you for your continuous support! Through your generous donations, KDSP has been able to provide basic necessities to families of individuals with Down syndrome and be their source of support in these trying times.
Love,
Team KDSP.
