Hello + Happy Summer,
Ocean Blue CleanUp Crew Leaders and volunteers have been out and about cleaning up beaches and along ocean bound waterways all around the U.S. this summer.
So far this year, we have empowered over 50 CleanUp Crew Leaders and over 500 volunteers to CleanUp an average of 2 pounds for every volunteer. Considering how little plastic wrappers and land-based debris can weigh, this is no small feat.
While our goal is to reach 10 times that number of CleanUps and volunteers this year, the Ocean Blue Team feels content knowing that 10 times the number of Crew Leaders in volunteers showed up so far this year. This includes volunteers leading a DIY CleanUp on their own, often as a high school or university student leading by example for our ocean.
The education our students receive through CleanUp Training + Certification is vital for making waves for the future of our One World Ocean. We would not be able to provide this new Certification and CleanUp supplies to every single Crew Leader for safe and smoothly run CleanUps without your support.
We appreciate you and hope you EnJoy the rest of your summer no matter where you are now. We are all connected by One World Ocean and the vision we share together.
Warm Regards,
Karisa Arterbury
Director of Operations + Development.
