Thank you for donating to Charmaghz. Your generous donations to our 2019 “Winter Fundraising” surpassed our expectations. So besides renovating all our mobile libraries, we added a new bus to our fleet.
You donated $7260, from which we spent $3202 to renovate 3 mobile libraries we had. With the remaining $4084, we designed a new mobile library for children.
We rented an old public bus, not used for almost ten years. Our team of local expert carpenters, painters and mechanics worked together to fix this old bus and turn it to a well-furnished functioning mobile library. It took us a month to repair it and have the wheels running again after 10 years. The expert hands changed the interior of the bus to a library with shelves, comfy chairs, solar system, fans to keep it cool, CCTV to keep it safe, sound system to have children enjoy music while reading, and finally bought hundreds of children books. We decided the bus to operate in Khairkhana, one of the most populated areas of Kabul but with no library. It was your generous donations that opened our way to a whole new area of the city, enabling us offer services to thousands of children.
However, for this library to continue its operation, we need more resources. One year of its operation costs us $16200. While we are humbled and grateful by your generous giving, we are launching a new fundraising campaign to raise money to keep this new mobile library running.
We hope you donate to our new funding too!
