Rolling Fork MS. Survivor story #1, A 85 year old man in his house and the tornadoes tearing across his neighborhood his wife of 60 + years is bed ridden. He had 2 options to take shelter in the bathroom or closet as hes always been instructed, but he chose another option to sit by the bed and hold his wife of 60 plus years hand and pray as most of the houses on the block were destroyed. His house heavily damaged they both survived He told our volunteer with tears in his eyes that if one was going to go then they both were going to go. Throughout the debris clean up around his house and the mucking and gutting of the inside of the house he smiled and thanked us even offered to pay for our lunch which we refused. He worked alongside of us with his daughter each day. We did share a lunch and got to spend valuable time with him and his daughter. Their attitude & spirit were an inspiration.
