Dear Friends,
Warm greetings to you all and let me thank you for your generosity in order to make this project a resounding success and for the ABCDE Foundation to be part of the GlobalGiving community.
This reporting period, I am very proud to report that we are starting to build sanitary, scientific, durable and low-cost latrines in the municipality of Sergio Osmena in Zamboanga del Norte. There are barrios here where open defecation is very high at 70% of the households having no toilets. This is really problematic and a lot of residents here are often sick with water-borne diseases. Poverty is a major problem why local residents could not afford to build latrines.
Our design is simple and we are using local materials that are readily available here.
We are able to build 22 latrines and the construction of other latrines is on-going.
Again, thank you very much.
Very sincerely yours,
Cesar
