WHO I AM

My name is Brayan, I am 25 years old, I live with my wife in La Pastora, Caracas. I currently have a degree in Public Accounting, graduated from Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV), however, it is important that you know my story and how, thanks to Fundación Oportunidad y Futuro (FOF) I am a professional today.

MY RELATIONSHIP WITH FOF

During the year 2018 I was in the 4th semester of my college education, my family was going through a difficult economic situation, and I had a lot of uncertainty about my future. By that time, I was also enrolled in an English course at the Venezuelan American Center (C.V.A.) which, due to the high tuition costs, I had to interrupt. It was then that I was interviewed by the Fundación Oportunidad y Futuro (FOF), which gave me the opportunity to continue with my college studies and complete my English course.

My relationship with the foundation was very fruitful, from the beginning I had regular meetings with my mentor, Eduardo Carrasquero, who was always a great support; personally, he motivated me to continue with my efforts to achieve my goal, which by then was to obtain my college degree, and academically he guided me in the decision making process for the design of appropriate strategies to face the different projects and assignments that I had to carry out.

WHERE I AM

Currently, my wife and I are developing an educational project, which consists of the construction of a school in La Pastora (in the city of Caracas). Right now, we only have one classroom which gives us the possibility to teach classes to children and young people of the community who, like me, do not have the financial possibilities. In this way they can continue their academic education that allows them to keep on growing, learning and above all improving day by day the academic deficiencies that they may have.

WHERE AM I GOING

My main objective in life is to leave a legacy to those around me; to be an example of work, perseverance, discipline, humility, and efficiency. I would like to be a bearer of knowledge for future generations; to be an example for the children that tomorrow will be the future of our country; to be remembered always as a person that taught them, educated them and above all that encouraged them to be better human beings.

A few days after Brayan's graduation, his mother sent FOF a letter of thanks, a small excerpt of which is transcribed below.

“…I have the pleasure of addressing you on this opportunity to express my gratitude and that of my family for the academic, human, unconditional, constant, and permanent support to my son Brayan, who with the economic and moral support received by the FUNDACIÓN OPORTUNIUDAD Y FUTURO was able to complete not only his English course but also his college studies. I also want to express that more than grateful, I feel very proud and happy for the achievement of my son, as my experience with him and with you during all this time, gave me the satisfaction that with a lot of discipline, perseverance, and constancy we can reach our life goals. I never had any doubt about that... I only hope that you as a Foundation will last in time so that other people will benefit from it.…”

QUIEN SOY

Mi nombre es Brayan, tengo 25 años, vivo en Caracas en La Pastora junto con mi esposa. Actualmente soy Licenciado en Contaduría Pública, egresado de la Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV), sin embargo, es importante que sepan cuál es mi historia y como gracias a la Fundación Oportunidad y Futuro (FOF) hoy soy un profesional.

MI RELACIÓN CON LA FUNDACIÓN

Durante el año 2018 me encontraba en el 4to semestre de la carrera universitaria, mi familia atravesaba una mala situación económica y tenía mucha incertidumbre acerca de mi futuro. Para ese entonces también me encontraba realizando un curso de inglés en el Centro Venezolano Americano (C.V.A.) el cual, debido a los altos costos de la matrícula, tuve que suspender. Fue entonces cuando fui entrevistado por la Fundación Oportunidad y Futuro (FOF) que me dio la oportunidad de poder continuar firmemente con mi carrera universitaria y poder culminar mis estudios de inglés.

Mi relación con la fundación fue muy fructífera, desde el inicio tuve reuniones periódicas con mi tutor, el Sr. Eduardo Carrasquero, que siempre fue un gran apoyo; en lo personal me motivaba a continuar en la lucha por alcanzar mi objetivo que para entonces eran obtener mi título universitario y en lo académico donde me aclaraba dudas y me orientaba en la toma de decisiones para el diseño de estrategias adecuadas para enfrentar los diferentes proyectos y asignaciones que debía realizar.

DONDE ESTOY

Actualmente, junto con mi esposa, me encuentro desarrollando un proyecto educativo, que consiste en la construcción de una escuela en La Pastora (en la ciudad de Caracas). Actualmente solo disponemos de un aula de clases que nos brinda la posibilidad de dar clases a niños y jóvenes de la comunidad quienes, al igual que yo, no tienen las posibilidades económicas. De esta manera pueden seguir adquiriendo conocimientos académicos que les permita continuar creciendo, aprendiendo y sobre todo mejorando día a día las debilidades académicas que presenten.

HACIA DONDE VOY

Mi principal objetivo de vida es dejar un legado a quienes me rodean; ser ejemplo de trabajo, constancia, disciplina, humildad y eficiencia. Quisiera ser portador de conocimiento para las futuras generaciones; ser un ejemplo para los niños que el día de mañana serán el futuro de nuestro país; que me recuerden siempre como un ser que los enseñó, los educó y sobre todo que los impulsó a ser mejores seres humanos.  

Unos días después de la graduación de Brayan, su madre envió una carta de agradecimiento de la cual se transcribe un pequeño fragmento.

“…Tengo el agrado de dirigirme a ustedes en esta oportunidad para expresarles mi agradecimiento y el de mi familia por el acompañamiento académico, humano, incondicional, permanente y constante de mi hijo Brayan, quien con el apoyo económico y moral recibidos por la FUNDACIÓN OPORTUNIUDAD Y FUTURO pudo culminar en su oportunidad su curso de inglés y su carrera profesional. Quiero además expresarles que más que agradecida, me siento muy orgullosa y feliz por el logro de mi hijo, ya que mi experiencia vivida con él y con ustedes durante todo este tiempo me dio la satisfacción de que con mucha disciplina, perseverancia y constancia podemos llegar alcanzar nuestros objetivos de vida. Nunca tuve duda en eso... solo espero que ustedes como Fundación perduren en el tiempo para que otras personas sean las beneficiadas…”
