ENCUENTRO FIN DE AÑO 2017 (English Translation at the bottom of this post)
Como todos los años, la Fundación Oportunidad y Futuro realizó el cierre del año 2017 con un evento al cual asistieron los estudiantes, tutores y amigos de la fundación y cuya finalidad fue compartir experiencias e informar sobre los proyectos y planes para el 2018.
Este año el evento se realizó el sábado 9 de diciembre de 2017 en una sala de Cines Unidos (gran colaborador de FOF) y contó con la asistencia de 36 estudiantes, 20 tutores, miembros de la junta directiva, representantes de los institutos y universidades con los cuales tenemos acuerdos, colaboradores, familiares y amigos; en total asistieron más de 80 personas.
Se dio inicio al encuentro con la intervención de Eduardo Carrasquero, director de la fundación, dando la bienvenida a los asistentes y una breve reseña de quienes somos, lo que hacemos y por qué lo hacemos.
A continuación y en el marco del programa de Formación Integral que la Fundación Oportunidad y Futuro ofrece a sus estudiantes, tuvimos la oportunidad de escuchar una excelente charla motivacional dictada por Martín Echevarría, integrante del proyecto Cumbre www.proyectocumbre.com.ve (el equipo de Proyecto Cumbre ha subido y coronado los picos mas altos del mundo incluyendo el Monte Everest) . En su charla, Martin en donde se hizo énfasis en los siguientes aspectos:
Visión a largo plazo y planificación estratégica
En conversación posterior con el Prof. Richard Escorche, representante del Instituto Universitario Jesús Obrero – IUJO que asistió al encuentro, nos comunicó y citamos textualmente “…los muchachos salieron muy contentos ese día, no esperaban un evento como el que se realizó, me comentaron lo interesante de la charla y preguntaron cuando sería la próxima actividad…”
Isabel Rodríguez, empresaria y una de nuestras benefactoras dirigió unas palabras a los estudiantes con el fin de compartir sus experiencias y ofrecerles oportunidades de trabajo, que es uno de los objetivos que la fundación se ha propuesto cumplir para complementar el apoyo que le brinda a sus estudiantes.
Se cerraron las intervenciones con la participación de Enzo D´Amore, integrante del equipo directivo de la fundación, quien informó a los asistentes sobre los logros del 2017, los nuevos proyectos y estrategias para el 2018 y aprovechó la oportunidad para lanzar, en el marco de la celebración de los 25 años de la Fundación Oportunidad y Futuro, nuestra nueva imagen, realizada por una de nuestras tutoras y gran colaboradora de la fundación.
Para finalizar el encuentro, se procedió a la firma de los convenios de los 16 nuevos estudiantes que, gracias a los aportes de nuestros donantes recibidos a través de GlobalGiving, se pudo incorporar a nuestro programa de becas para el 2018 y que fueron recibidos por sus respectivos tutores.
En ese momento tuvimos la oportunidad de conversar con los estudiantes y sus tutores, de escucharlos y comprender un poco mejor la situación particular de cada uno de ellos; en el caso particular de Eliseo Carrillo, estudiante de Estudio Internacionales en la UCV y cuyo testimonio se presenta en el video, está concluyendo el último nivel de un curso de inglés que, por solicitud de su tutora, la fundación le está patrocinando y que es una herramienta indispensable para su éxito profesional.

English Translation
YE MEETING 2017
Oportunidad y Futuro Foundation closed the year 2017 with an event attended by the students, tutors and friends of the foundation and whose purpose was to share experiences and inform about the projects and plans for 2018. This year the event was held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 in a room of Cines Unidos (a great collaborator of FOF) and was attended by 36 students, 20 tutors, members of the board of directors, representatives of the institutes and universities with which we have agreements, collaborators, family and friends; In total more than 80 people attended.
The meeting began with the intervention of Eduardo Carrasquero, director of the foundation, welcoming the attendees and a brief overview of who we are, what we do and why we do it.
Then and within the framework of the Integral Training program offered by the Oportunidad y Futuro Foundation to its students, we had the opportunity to listen to an excellent motivational speech given by Martín Echevarría, member of the Cumbre project www.proyectocumbre.com.ve (the team of Proyecto Cumbre has climbed and crowned the highest peaks in the world including Mount Everest). In his speech, Martin, emphasized the following aspects:
• Long-term vision and strategic planning
• Shared leadership and teamwork
• Risk management and improvisation capacity
• Integration of diverse cultures and values
In subsequent conversation with Prof. Richard Escorche, representative of the Instituto Universitario Jesús Obrero - IUJO who attended the meeting, we were informed and we quote verbatim "... the boys came out very happy that day, did not expect an event like that was done, I was told the interesting thing about the talk and they asked when the next activity would be ... "
Isabel Rodríguez, entrepreneur and one of our benefactors spoke to the students in order to share their experiences and offer them job opportunities, which is one of the objectives that the foundation has proposed to fulfill in order to complement the support it offers to its students.
The interventions were closed with the participation of Enzo D'Amore, member of the foundation's management team, who informed the attendees about the achievements of 2017, the new projects and strategies for 2018 and took the opportunity to launch, in the framework of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Oportunidad y Futuro Foundation, our new image, made by one of our tutors and a great collaborator of the foundation.
To conclude the meeting, we proceeded to sign the agreements of the 16 new students who, thanks to the contributions of our donors received through GlobalGiving, could join our scholarship program for 2018 and that were received by their respective tutors. This was a great venue Beneficiaries and Mentors to connect one more time, to listen to each other and to better understand particular situations of some of the beneficiaries. In the particular case of Eliseo, a student of International Studies at the UCV and whose testimony is presented in the video, he is concluding the last level of an English course that, at the request of his tutor, the foundation is sponsoring him and that is an indispensable tool for your professional success.
