Mental Health Education for 5,000 Kids in China

The International Day of Happiness is an annual event set by the United Nations to advocate the idea that being happy and well-being is universal human rights. Since 2013, the United Nations has celebrated the International Day of Happiness throughout the whole world on each 20th of March.

The 2021 International Day of Happiness is coming! With the theme of Happiness For All Forever, we would like to send you a big big ghost hug to fight back against the pandemic. Covid-19 is tough, but so are you!

The past year has challenged us to stand together like never before. Thanks to your generosity, Rici Foundation was sponsored more than $20,000 through GlobalGiving that support our project for rural children. Thank you for standing with us during our community’s time of need!

When the COVID-19 hit China, like other nonprofits, we faced huge unprecedented challenges including nationwide school closures, cancellation of winter / summer campus, decreasing donations, etc.,

To respond these challenges, we published a handbook for adolescent psychology during COVID-19 pandemic which provided methods, information and tool to support teachers due to school re-open.

In 3rd and 4th quarters, we are able to deploy the project in 177 school in Hunan, Jingyang and Puyang, as the government pay more attention to children’s mental health. Besides, we also launched two fundraising campaign with 99 Giving Day and Giving Tuesday, which created new records in our history.

Until December 2020, around 68,000 children were served through the project. Detailed information can be found here:
