More than one hundred students participated in the first version of this fair at the Hogar de Cristo Theater, which seeks to publicize various professions, which in the future will not only allow them to support their lives, but also to have the possibility of creating their own business, once they graduate from school.
"I thought it was excellent," says Gregory, a first-year student at the Padre Álvaro Lavín School in Maipú. "Especially the amount of jobs that one can learn tomorrow if one sets one's mind to it. This is something that does not exist in my country, the Dominican Republic, so I am very grateful for the opportunity. Also, I really liked the fact that it was at Hogar de Cristo, where I was able to go to the Padre Hurtado museum and learn about the history of this great man.
Gregory was one of the hundred or so students who attended the first version of this fair, which was attended by Universidad Santo Tomás, Instituto Profesional AIEP, Instituto Profesional ARCOS, Fundación Emplea and Instituto Nacional de la Juventud. Also in attendance was the entrepreneurship area of the Technical Cooperation Service, which supports micro-entrepreneurs and small businesses. And finally, three ventures attended: A&A Miradas, GV RRPP and "Sphere_chocolat", who related their experiences as micro entrepreneurs.
For the social and educational director of Fundación Súmate, Enid Vargas, "the event has a key role for young people, especially for those of Súmate, because it opens up expectations for them, expanding development opportunities that they do not necessarily see. This shows them that it is possible to achieve things and that they can fulfill their dreams and continue studying and opt for a trade that allows them to generate their own project or job in the future".
With a total of 118 students from the schools Padre Álvaro Lavín, Betania and Padre Hurtado of Fundación Súmate. It was also an opportunity to sign a collaboration agreement between Súmate and AIEP, which will allow the professional institute to work on the link with the environment of these three schools, strengthening the teaching and learning process through various initiatives within the framework of a long-term strategic plan.
