This year Ramazan was in the hottest month of the year. The fasts were long and tough lasting almost 16 hours: While for many of us maybe it was the heat and the thirst that was hard to handle. However, for many it was just not the thirst of the heat it was hunger, pain, trails and tribulation.
Fatima Memorial Hospital (FMH) has been caring for needy people for 4 decades and the mission is to provide quality healthcare without discrimination to patients from all walks of life. Each year almost 300,000 people receive treatment from FMH each year.
There are countless patients who come to the hospital with no means to afford one square meal let alone the medical costs. These paitents are provided free meals each day as they are the responsibility of our patient.
The breaking of fast is called iftar in Pakistan and every Ramazan it is the tradition of Fatima Memorial Hospital to make sure that the needy patients and their families are served iftar and sehri. A tradition we have been keeping alive for the past 4 decades.
We kept our tradition this year and we hope to keep our traditions alive in the years to come.
