Providing Meals for FMH Patients and Attendants

Families often wait in hunger and desperation

Introduction

As the inflow of patients and their attendants rises day by day, Fatima Memorial Hospital (FMH) faces a critical challenge: ensuring that underprivileged patients and their attendants receive nourishing meals. Our mission is to provide quality healthcare to patients from all walks of life, but many belong to deprived communities in Pakistan. These families struggle to afford basic necessities, including food. To ease their suffering, FMH relies on the generous donations of esteemed supporters like you.

FMH extends healthcare to 82% of patients either free of cost or at subsidized rates.
However, many patients and their attendants come from deprived backgrounds and struggle to afford basic necessities, especially food.

Long-Term Impact: Addressing Hunger in Pakistan

Pakistan’s Hunger Score:
- In the 2018 Global Food Security Index, Pakistan ranked 77th out of 112 countries.
- Shockingly, Pakistan has the second-highest hunger score (32.6) in all of Asia, surpassed only by Afghanistan.
FMH’s Commitment:
- We aim to improve Pakistan’s hunger score in the long run.
- By providing free meals to attendants of underprivileged patients, we contribute to their well-being and comfort during challenging times.

- Rising commodity prices and economic instability strain FMH’s resources.
- Families often face additional costs for travel and accommodation while caring for their loved ones.
