Iftar refers to the evening meal when Muslims break their fast during the Islamic month of Ramadan. Iftar is one of the religious observances of Ramadan. Many Muslims believe that feeding someone Iftar as a form of charity is very rewarding as it was practiced by Prophet Muhammad the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. He said:
Whoever offers meal to his/her Muslim brother/sister at the time of iftar (the meal eaten by Muslims breaking their fast after sunset during the month of Ramadan), s/he receives as much reward as s/he has earned. Nothing becomes less of the reward of those s/he offered meal to. (Tirmidhî, Sawm: 82; Ibn-i Majah, Siyam: 40)
It is very rewarding to feed people. Feeding a fasting person in particular is much more rewarding. Offering food to people should be deemed as a blessing. It is declared in hadith-i sharifs:
The most virtuous of deeds is to cover the fault of a Believer, to feed him, and to make him happy by meeting a need of his.
FMH core work takes on a number of different approaches when it comes to dealing with the relief of needy in society. The Iftar food project is planned to offer Iftar meals (breaking of the fast meals) to those people who are fasting and accompanying patients at the Fatima Memorial Hospital (FMH). The aim of this program is to facilitate the families of patients with food at the time of Iftar. FMH provides its services to almost at least 500 patients every day. The attendants of the patients are already in distress due to the condition of their patients and FMH in every possible way efforts to soothe their distress.
The FMH Iftar campaign offers you the chance to engage with the true spirit of Ramadan and become a part of a noble deed through your donations. As part of our Iftar Campaign, you can provide a fasting person an Iftar that they otherwise could not afford.
