Dear Friend of Education Africa,
Hello and thank you for supporting our campaign. We are very grateful and will continue to work hard on our Alexandra marimba hub with your help.
Our Education Africa 30-hour Marimba training course has been completed with two teachers from Boys & Girls Club Alexandra, where our Education Africa Marimba Hub is situated, participating. We have a 5-hour training and orientation class planned for the second week of June for all staff at Boys & Girls Club in Alexandra.
Instruments have been delivered and our classes are slowly starting to begin. We have had some challenges with storing the instruments however, we are looking for solutions with Boys & Girls Club.
Marimba playing offers emotional, physical and mental satisfaction for boys and girls and allows them to see their creative potential and increase their self-esteem. By keeping them occupied after school our Education Africa Marimba Hub program keeps the children off the streets and away from negative influences such as drug abuse, underage drinking and crime. With your help our Marimba Hub can positively impact up to 200 primary and high school children in the Alexandra community.
Thank you again for your support,
James Urdang
