Our Education Africa Marimba Hubs restarted at the end of January after our summer holidays, we now have 12 Hubs running.
Our GlobalGiving fundraiser was well supported and we can confirm that we have ordered our set marimbas and other related items from the factory for our new Marimba Hub in Alexandra Township and they will be ready by the end of March 2019.
The workshops will be taking place from Monday the 25th March to Friday the 29th March at Jeppe High School for Boys, in Johannesburg.
We are expecting 35 teachers at this workshop from our various Hubs and mot imporattly our new teacher from our Alexandra Hub.Our Alexandra Marimba Hub will start functioning from the 2nd April 2019 when the schools go back after the holidays.
it will then take us several months to get the children playing at a level where we are aiming for some of the children to partiucipate in our annual Education Africa International Marimba and Steelpan Festival.
We are also please to anounce that Education Africa in the Gauteng Premier Excellence Awards received a sliver Award for Arts of Culture.
Our next report will contain photographs of our new Alexandra Marimba Hub in action.
