March on Washington 2020-21

Summary

This project will cover costs for the trip to Washington DC for the March on Washington. This year the project will cover COVID19 related care kits distributed in collaboration with Washington DC's Rotary and NAACP clubs for an anticipated large amount of attendees. As minority health is our top priority, we also understand there are two pandemics going on for a marginalized group of people. BIPOC are facing covid19 and racism and a call to health safety is one RAWS must answer.

Challenge

There are currently two pandemics being faced by BIPOC: coronavirus and racism. Although there is a vaccine in the works for one of them, there is no vaccine for the other. Communities are now risking their lives to fight against the injustices of our nation.

Solution

As our mission is to end the plague of minority health disparities deeply rooted in the urban community, it is our duty to utilize our specialty in health awareness to ensure our community's safety and support during this time.

Long-Term Impact

Our students and participants will learn the importance of collaboration within our community, have the opportunity to understand, combat and confront health disparities within our nations most marginalized communities.
