Our architects and builders have been working very hard to build the foundations of our Marc Bolan School of Music and Film in Makeni. Over the last few weeks (January and February 2022) we have bought a great deal of materials, locally sourced, and made great progress with the first very important steps of laying the substantial foundations for our school. The images below testify to the sheer scale and ambition of how we are helping our community. Truck loads of sand, cement, steel reinforcements and bricks have been delivered and our community builders have mixed, measured and grafted to put all in place. It has been a very exciting time, and there has been constant communication between all involved. Our architect, Philip Mansaray, has overseen every step of the work aided by our directors Bai Koroma and Gloria Jones. As well as this significant development some of our now-qualified students have been documenting the building process on camera and film - again, pictures below show how closely involved everyone in our school community is involved in the very real and wonderful work.
Much has been achieved thanks to your very generous donations, but there is still a long way to go and every penny/cent you donate goes into the next stage of building and the payment of our staff. Please help us complete the building with whatever amount you can. It is very, very much appreciated.
