Generous supporters,
This will be the final report from the GlobalGiving Make GlobalGiving Mobile project. We’re glad to say that we’ve been able to make significant progress transforming the GlobalGiving website to have a more responsive design in the past year. Going forward, mobile integration will be funded as part of a larger Growth Capital Initiative that we’re undertaking at GlobalGiving!
In the meantime we’re preparing for some bigger (and better) changes!
As in the last report, we’ve updated our project pages and made it easier than ever to donate from your mobile device. The updated project page and the updated donation page can be seen in the pictures at the top of this post!
Nick Violi and our team of Software Engineers for Good have been hard at work on this transition. Nick offered some insight on what we can expect moving forward:
We are starting to consider a more major redesign of our homepage and all of the site. From the infrastructure up, we want to make a more modern, responsive, and user-friendly experience that allows us to create new designs and new pages quickly.
As we are creating new pages, the transition to mobile is at the forefront of the page designs. An example of this is our design of Crowdfundamentals.
(You can see the difference between the mobile layout and the desktop layout in the images at the bottom of this report.)
No more zooming in and awkward navigation as you read!
On behalf of the GlobalGiving product team, Nick says, “We appreciate your support and your choice to support mobile development in addition to all of the other options to give that we offer. It speaks to how progressive and understanding of the tech landscape our audience is. Thanks for keeping us forward thinking. Thanks for thinking about the problems of how philanthropy fits with modern tech. Thanks for helping us solve them.
All the best,
Mackenzie Cannon and the GlobalGiving Product Team
