Give 2000 Egyptian Families Affordable Health Care

As we mentioned in the previous newsletter shared with you, we aim to empower local NGOs to provide women with accurate information and access to basic health services. We are happy to announce that we are done with developing the  comprehensive training content for local NGOs working in Egypt to equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to educate and support women and families in navigating the healthcare system.

This is through some key activities:

- Needs Assessment: Initial consultations with local NGOs and stakeholders identified critical areas for knowledge improvement.

- Content Development: Subject matter experts in reproductive health, healthcare systems, and gender equity collaborated to develop training modules on the following key topics:

• The Right to Health: This module will explore the fundamental right to health
• Referral Systems in the Egyptian Healthcare System: This module will map the existing referral system within the public sector, highlighting the different levels of care and how to navigate referrals effectively.
• Understanding the New Healthcare Insurance System: This module will provide a clear comparison between the old and new healthcare insurance systems in Egypt, explaining benefits, eligibility requirements, and the process of utilizing insurance for reproductive health services.

- Content Review and Revision: The developed modules underwent rigorous review by subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure accuracy, clarity, and cultural sensitivity.

- Training Material Development: The training content was formatted into accessible and engaging materials, including presentations, handouts, and interactive exercises.

We are aiming to launch the online version of the training in July 2024. One of the main milestones we are aiming to include is digital system integration: a separate training module on the digital healthcare system will be developed and integrated into the program in the next phase. This module will equip NGOs with the knowledge and skills to navigate the digital platform. This Training represents a significant step forward in empowering local NGOs in Egypt, to access and navigate the healthcare system.
