This project plans to carry out an awareness campaign in 26 schools also reaching parents and teachers; a seminar for 48 leaders as well as media awareness-raising for free schools and villages from child marriage.
In Madagascar, the prevalence rate of child marriage remains high; it is about 42% in general and 63 % in the south. The rights of child brides in Madagascar are violated. In short they face an increased risk of violence and abuse and they live in a cycle of poverty, they become prisoners of marriage and this jeopardizes their future. Thus, the project will target 26 public primary schools and will serve 20 localities in Madagascar.
We opte for a prevention action in schools and in the villages. The project will raise awareness and mobilize children especially girls and It will provide seminar and a training for trainers for leaders. To have more impact we shared posters and banners in schools and brochures for parents. Through the seminar, banners, X banners, posters and brochures will also be distributed. Photos and videos are also planned. For more visibility, we use newspaper and signboards.
This project will sensitize 30,000 school girls and boys and 43,000 people (girls, young women and men) outside school sensitized.
