By Kyra Zimmerman | Senior Associate, Disaster Response
Thank you—we can’t say it enough! Because of your generosity, people struggling amid severe food insecurity in southern Madagascar were able to access quality nutritious food and combat malnutrition, even as disasters struck the country over the past few years.
The Madagascar Famine Relief Fund has powered 10 grants to high-impact and community-led nonprofit organizations at the forefront of this crisis.
Here is a description of the critical work you’ve recently supported through our final grant:
Your support of the GlobalGiving Madagascar Famine Relief Fund is advancing community-led recovery, and it means organizations like Zahana received critical resources to help their community through the most food-insecure times.
As Markus, a Zahana team member shared about the impact of your gift:
“This is amazing and a true godsend. We had been discussing the dire situation in our villages when it comes to food security (despite all of them being rice farmers), and I am sure the team in Madagascar will put it to good use.”
This fund is no longer accepting donations, and this will be the last fund report of this kind from our team. You can continue to support partners like these through our East Africa Hunger Relief Fund or our Hope in Crisis Fund, among many others!
You can stay connected with our work through Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and our Learn Library, where we regularly share stories about the incredible impact of the powerful GlobalGiving community.
As always, thank you for your support to these partners and communities.
With gratitude,
Kyra + the GlobalGiving Team
