Nutritious lunch for 1,367 Ugandan school children

THANK YOU! With your generous support over the past years, we’ve been able to reach and exceed our goal - providing over 1,367 children at Entebbe Primary School with nutritious meals daily. Your generous contributions have made a significant difference and will continue to have a lasting impact. With your support, and the donations we received, we were able to provide lunch and we are providing clean water safe for drinking and hand washing to all students. 

Teachers, report overall increase in attendance, improvement in grades, drop out is lower and there is increase in school enrollment. We have heard from students, parents and community leaders expressing their thanks and gratitude.

At Tender Grassroots we believe in holistic approach, and we know that part of making sure students is well-nourished at school means ensuring they also have access to healthcare. We are embarking a project to ensure that children get all required immunizations and basic healthcare

Dear Friends,

Thanks to your generous support, Tender Grassroots continues to run the lunch program at Entebbe Primary School in Wakiso, Uganda. Presently, the school is operating at full capacity after a long closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic and we are providing meals to more than our initial 1,000 students goal due to an increase in the student population  to 1,118. We have received positive comments from teachers, students and parents and our efforts on imporoving education outcomes at the school is bearing fruit. For example, teachers have reported a significant imporvement in attendance.

To promote job creation and local community development, we purchase majority of the school produce from local farmers and traders.

With the momentum gathered and the positive results from the work carried out thus far, we would like to continue building on this strong foundation and this is only possible through your support and generous contributions. An increase in the student population means that we need your support now more than before.
