Libros para Todos had a very special visit on April 19 from some Unitarian Universalist friends. Visiting from New Jersey was Reverend Craig Rubano and from the UU Fellowship of San Miguel de Allende we were lucky enough to have Reverend Tom Rosiello, Bill Dalsimer, and Janet Freed join us.
We first visited the community of Palo Colorado where volunteers (Claudia, Barbara, Manuel, Adriana and Norah and Don) work with children directly on their reading skills. After that, we put our visitors to work in the community of Alonso Yañez where we are converting a neglected community center into a library for children.
Libros para Todos is very thankful for the support that the UU Congregation of Monmouth County, NJ, who have raised enough money to fully fund the new library in Alonso Yañez. It is so beautiful to see bridges being made between cultures in support of literacy for underprivileged children. I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Friends of Libros para Todos are always welcome to visit our projects in the field or to volunteer. If you are receiving this email, it is because you are already part of our team.
Gracias a todos!
