Things are Getting Interesting

By Maria Clara Vegas | Experiential Travel Coordinator

We are getting closer!
We are getting closer!

Dear donor,

Things have become even harder in our country since the last report, that's why we are working hard to solve all the logistical problems involved in making such a big project in such a remote community.

But that still can’t stop us. We consider ourselves tireless warriors and will keep on working hard to fulfill our dreams of supplying solar power to Kamarata. We trust that this will be just the beginning of a huge wave of light that shall cover lots of unique and underdeveloped communities in our country.

Thanks to our donors, we are glad to announce we are close to our goal. We don't have words to describe how thankful we are with everyone who has believed in this dream and helped in their own way.

We are so excited to tell you all the progress we have had so far with this project, all thanks to our donor´s generosity:

  • The Charity Gala of Stanford University, GSB Gives Back, took place last March 22nd. They already processed the results, and since late May we count with the funds.
  • We are working hand in hand with Otepi, designing and resizing the technical project to the different scenarios, according to our fundraising efforts.
  • BCD Travel decided to support us with a match of USD $3000, depending on the money we raise next few months before the project execution.
  • The British Embassy in Venezuela approved the rest of the budget needed for the realization of the project.
  • Great news! We estimate to start with the execution of the project in Kamarata, next August.

Even we have reached the goal we set, some costs have changed, and we still need support to cover the logistical details. All help is welcomed! We need you! Venezuela needs you! We know that you are always looking for a way to support, to bring light. This is a great opportunity to support a cause that will help to solve so many problems in one of the most special places in the world, the back yard of the Angel Falls, the place were more than 3000 indigenous pemones kamarakotos live: The Kamarata Valley.

We are counting on you today and always to make this world a better place. Thank you for all the light you bring to Venezuela!
