Improve Girls' Education in Ethiopia

Ethiopian girls face even more of a challenge in receiving a proper education. They are expected to perform housekeeping duties on top of school and marry young. With two in five girls married by 18 and one in five girls married by 15, many never get a chance for a full education. With two in five girls married by 18 and one in five girls married by 15, many never get a chance for a full education. Girls who do attend school are also more vulnerable to physical violence from teachers and classmates. Overall, social pressure puts girls in Ethiopia at a significant disadvantage for education. Your Donatioddress Girls' Education needs, and has improved poor and underprivileged girl access to education in Ethiopia by providing educational support, provision of educational material, accommodation/transport, and female hygiene and empowering them through girl clubs in school for collective action  

In this reporting period by your donation new 100 children and including poor girls were provided with educational material supplies including, clothing, medical services, feeding service (school meals), counseling, and socialization services, and enabling highly vulnerable children's attend their school without any problem. This is only possible because of the support of special individuals and foundations who provide the funds to reach out to these poor girls   Besides MHO are on the ground alongside poor children in rural school  whatever it takes to ensure to ensure every child has access to education by providing them with necessary educational materials and support

Tigist She came to our organization

Tigist, pictured here, is a nineteen-year-old girl who has benefitted from the activities and programs offered by the project. Her one-month-old baby includes herself,  who has benefitted from the activities and programs offered by the project

When the young mother arrived, she joined the charity on February 8, 2014, carrying a one-month-old baby. When she arrived, she was a desperate mother who was ready to commit suicide at any moment, and with all the tools she could find  She do not know where and how her spouse is doing. She came to our organization at the suggestion  Of local authorities realized her plight and went to a rehabilitation center, when she came to MHO, she was a very sad young woman who seemed to have no choice but to hurt her. But with the tireless efforts of the professional team at MHO, we can see the positive side of life. As a result, upon completion of the training, she is in the process of joining the community and is in the business of managing herself and her child and planning to support her other needy sisters

 She considered MHO where she underwent various life skills training to better protect her and her children’s health. She also said that she was ready to live on her own and that there was a spirit of potential in her. Her children are in good health.
