Lifeline to Palestine: Emergency Assistance

I am Waed, a compassionate member of a family with low financial means. Despite enduring numerous hardships, particularly within the harsh conditions of Balata Camp, I have remained resolute.

Life in the camp is exceptionally difficult due to cramped living spaces lacking proper ventilation, leading to health issues. Moreover, the absence of recreational facilities exacerbates the distress, especially for children. However, Tomorrow’s Youth Organization is one of the places that has provided a safe space for children to play.

Besides the arduous living conditions, we suffer from insecurity and severe poverty, especially with the recent frequent incursions into the camp. In one of the recent incursions, my house was damaged, adding to the intense stress we endure as we live in fear of my husband's arrest.

My relatives suggested that involving my son in TYO's programs might ease our separation, given his strong attachment to me. Taking their advice, I registered him, and it proved to be an excellent decision. Through TYO, I discovered a supportive community of dedicated staff committed to assisting beneficiaries like us in every possible way.

Recently, we received food aid from TYO, which was genuinely needed. I wouldn't have accepted it from anyone else, but the interaction with the organization's staff was incredibly easy and friendly. I felt that they resembled me and were part of my family. Therefore, when they offered me assistance, I truly accepted it. 

The package TYO offered was suitable and comprehensive for the household. And it came at the right time when my fridge was empty and we had no food at the house. Since the aggravation of the conditions on the ground and across the country, our situation worsened and we have had more financial obligations and debts.

The staff at TYO consistently demonstrated sincerity and commitment to assisting others. Among them, the social workers stood out with their warm smiles. Ms. Noor, an enthusiastic and caring teacher, wholeheartedly devoted herself to the well-being of children and aimed to create a positive impact. Additionally, Razan played a crucial role in my life by offering unwavering support and guidance, particularly during a crucial meeting that sparked positive transformations.

TYO’s holistic approach extends support to the entire community. By prioritizing not only children's education but also their overall development, it presents an unparalleled opportunity to develop youth and benefit the community as a whole.

I have not yet had the opportunity to participate in other programs yet, but I plan to join in the future. I want to focus on my personal development and empowerment, to start my personal project so that I can achieve financial independence to reduce the stress in which we live, and find psychological comfort.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude. TYO supported me financially and morally at a time I really needed. I hope it continues its efforts in alleviating the psychological and economic pressures faced by all in our community.
