From August to November 2024, Pink continued its work for the LGBT+ community in Armenia and advocating for progress in human rights. This work was made possible through the generosity of donor organizations and contributions via the GlobalGiving platform, for which we are deeply grateful.
Over these months, our social workers provided more than 200 counselings to 152 individuals, addressing mental health challenges, referring to psychologists, and supporting with cases of discrimination and violence encountered in education, workplaces, and personal relationships.
Our legal team conducted over 153 counselings and offered legal support. Many of these cases were rooted in bias-motivated hate crimes, hate speech, discrimination, and violence. Our lawyers also tackled complex matters like migration, asylum, and broader human rights violations, ensuring that those in need received professional assistance.
During this period, our psychologists delivered 295 counselings, offering support for anxiety, depression, self-acceptance, relationship struggles, anger management, and even crisis situations involving suicidal thoughts.
In addition to these services, Pink hosted a variety of impactful events. October marked LGBT+ History Month, during which we highlighted key moments in Armenia’s LGBT+ movement through a dedicated timeline shared on our website. To celebrate Coming Out Day, we organized an event featuring performances by Armenia’s famous drag artists, who shared their personal journeys with the audience.
On October 31, Pink achieved another milestone by organizing Armenia’s first professional conference on sexuality and gender studies. This groundbreaking event gathered experts to exchange insights and discuss the challenges faced within the field.
Altogether, Pink hosted 20 events during these four months, including psychological clubs, capacity-building workshops, and group discussions. And over 50 meetings were held in the regions, covering topics such as feminism, activism, well-being, and human rights, further expanding our outreach.
We extend our gratitude to everyone who supports us through GlobalGiving. Your contributions empower us to continue advocating for the rights, dignity, and well-being of LGBT+ people in Armenia. Together, we are making a difference.
