In order to help some organizations protect their environment and improve soil fertility, Lambi Fund has financed several small tree seedling production projects for 11 Organizations in 2 Departments in the country (South and Latibonite). Almost all of these projects started in 2022. These organizations had to produce a total of 320,000 seedlings (fruit and forest trees).
One of the organizations, the Women's Organization of Pleche (OFAP), produced 120,000 seedlings themselves. The organizations always get the support of a tree nursery technician who will help them set up the tree nurseries and support them in all other activities that are being carried out in the project such as compost preparation, filling bags, putting the seeds in bags, taking care of the seedlings in the nursery. This project had 3 phases: seedling production phase, distribution phase, and seedling follow-up phase after transplanting in the fields of the beneficiary members. All the seedlings produced have already been distributed to the members of the organizations who were in the program and all these seedlings are growing in the fields.
