Our anniversary party was a success! We celebrated two decades of impact and service. Twenty years of inspiration, perseverance and growth, changing lives and building futures for the children and youth of Jocotenango, Sacatepéquez.
The EFTC Carnival was held in a beautiful garden where the team enthusiastically welcomed students, their families, alumni, and donors. The children were delighted with all the different games taking place around the venue and all the families enjoyed the performance of a famous mime who brought laughter and joy. The carnival was a lot of fun for children and adults alike. Two former students, who are part of our entrepreneurship program, served delicious ice cream and shucos (the Guatemalan version of a hot dog). Awards were presented to our founder and to one of the school's first employees, who after 20 years is still making a difference in the lives of young people.
The next events took place at the school during the week. On the first day, parents, sponsors, volunteers and visitors shared special moments with the children, who were thrilled by the exciting football competition and creative pottery painting. Everyone enjoyed a delicious cake baked in our new industrial oven! Day two of the celebrations at the school kicked off with the eagerly awaited talent show, where students from all grades demonstrated their passion for dance and singing.
Sponsors were able to spend time with the students they support, some of whom they had met previously and were very happy to see how much they had grown. For other sponsors it was the first time they had met their students so it was a very emotional experience.
These were such wonderful and memorable celebrations and we thank everyone who helped make them possible!
