We are pleased to provide an update on our Lent Project 2024, which focused on improving water and sanitation facilities in communities and schools, as well as distributing Bibles to encourage spiritual growth. This report highlights the successful renovation of the well in Gimbo community.

Project Background

During Lent 2024, Another Hope Children's Ministries (AHCM) undertook a comprehensive project to address water and sanitation needs in various communities and schools. The project included:

• Water tank construction: Installation of water tanks in schools and families to improve water storage and access.
• Toilet construction: Building new toilet facilities in schools and communities to promote hygiene and sanitation.
• Bible distribution: Distributing Bibles to individuals and families to encourage spiritual development.
• Well renovation: Renovating the dilapidated well in Gimbo community to provide a safe and reliable source of clean water.

Gimbo Well Renovation: A Focus

The well in Gimbo community was in a state of disrepair, posing significant health risks and safety hazards. Animals frequently contaminated the water, and the well's structure was unstable, making it dangerous for children who often fetched water.

Thanks to your generous support, we were able to completely renovate the well. This included:

• Structural repairs: Reinforcing the well's structure to ensure stability and safety.
• Cleaning and disinfection: Thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting the well to eliminate contaminants.
• Construction of a protective barrier: Building a barrier around the well to prevent animals from accessing the water.

Impact of the Gimbo Well Renovation

The renovated well has brought about significant positive changes in the Gimbo community:

• Improved health and hygiene: Access to clean water has reduced the incidence of waterborne diseases, leading to a healthier community.
