Do you think it's okay for a refugee to wait over 2 years for restarting a life with dignity? No. We neither. But it's happening, again, at the southern border of Mexico. This project will ensure the delivery of legal aid during the Mexican immigration status determination process to at least 75 refugees fleeing violence from Central America throughout 2019. Be part of the movement committed to providing a second chance in life, with dignity, AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Donate now and join today.
It's not caravans of migrants, it's forced displacement. It's a humanitarian crisis caused by gang violence and recruitment that has forced thousands of people from Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala, to seek refuge in Mexico at the exact same time. The system dedicated to protect refugees in Mexico is simply collapsing, not able to guarantee resolutions in short-term periods. Hundreds of people remain waiting for even more than 2 years to resume their lives.
Home Storytellers has partnered with the nonprofit Asylum Access to create a documentary film that could both raise awareness on the urgency of action needed and strategically increment the total of donations currently perceived by the local solution. The legal aid and accompaniment provided by our partner to refugees goes all the way from the beginning of the Mexican immigration status determination process up to the insertion of the person in the Mexican workforce, with dignity and safety.
Although your donation will guarantee the delivery of the integral legal assistance provided by Asylum Access to 75 refugees, it is expected that the documentary "Hot Dogs on a Tricycle" will help the local solution raise over 100,000 USD, impacting thousands more through legal empowerment, policy reform and global systems change.
