Dear Donors,
We are very happy to share with you the incredible progress of this project!
At the beginning of the project, a survey was made of all the spaces where the efficient kitchens will be installed: 10 community kitchens. We monitored how many people worked in the space, how many people went to get food, how many kilos of gas were used per month and if the cooks had any other salaried job. This established a baseline against which to compare the impact once the project was completed.
The next stage of the project consisted of 4 workshops in which 4 kitchens were redesigned and manufactured. Two technical referents were included to be in charge of the installation. The necessary 10 kitchens were built.
Subsequently, a “Cooks' Meeting” was held where 2 cooks from each space met together with representatives of the participating organizations, among them ISF, the University of La Matanza and La Poderosa. In this meeting, the kitchens were used to internalize the cooks with the technology and teach them how to use them.
The kitchens were fully installed in the dining halls.
Surveys are being carried out to compare the baseline with this new reality, in order to assess the impact of this project.
In our next report we hope to be able to share the results with you.
We are also evaluating the possibility of extending the scope of this project to more spaces.
Thank you very much for supporting this project.
Cheers!
