Good progress is being made in planning for implementation of our first kindergartens. Three villages have been selected as pilots and detailed discussions are ongoing with these communities. This is to ensure that the communities and their leaders fully understand their commitments under the programme. Communities are expected to provide the labour for the construction of the kindergartens and for developing a strategy to raise the resources required to maintain the building. KIDS FOR KIDS will provide play equipment and consumables and the committee managing the kindergarten will be responsible for raising funds to replenish the consumable items such as paper, coloured pencils, paints, etc. We are expecting to receive the signed commitments from each community in the very near future and then the implementation of the kindergartens can go ahead.
