As we continue reunifying children with their biological families or placing them with host families, Kidsave’s micro-loan program has enabled women who have taken in more children to either start or expand their current businesses. This includes hardworking moms such as Fatmata and Salaymatu to utilize part of their loan to cultivate groundnut. Another example is Margaret who makes Cassava bread every morning and sells them to the community out of the loan she receives from Kidsave. Her business is growing and is now doing personal savings every week.
The goal of these micro-loans is to enable these moms to meet the financial needs of caring for another child in their homes.
