We have exciting news to share! our Kibera Ballet School has been invited to attend the Malta Festival in Poland. This event will take place from September 5th to 15th, 2024. A group of ten students from our program will represent our dance school and perform at this renowned international festival.
This opportunity will not only allows our students to gain valuable performance experience but also exposes them to diverse cultural experiences and global audiences, building their self-esteem and confidence. The tour will give them a unique opportunity to display their skills and expose them to diverse cultures and a world different from Kibera.
Additionally, Project Elimu hosted dance instructors from America, The Carolina Dance Theatre and Graceful Expressions Dance School from the 8th to the 15th of August 2024 who held workshops and provided personalized coaching on ballet and modern dancing. This enhanced our students' technical skills, creativity, and confidence.
In celebration of the skills and routines developed during the dance workshops, we organized a Community Showcase on August 14th, 2024, and invited family members, local leaders, and our supporters. This event was an opportunity for our students to demonstrate their new skills and the progress made.
The dance program was featured on different news outlets on BBC, AFP, The Guardian and L’Osservatore Romano, Vatican Newspaper!
