Keep a student in school

Affecto Foundation has enrolled thirty-two new students into the educational program. These students make up Affecto’s Cohort 7 beneficiaries. They are students from all part of the country and even beyond.

Ayak, is one of the students we enrolled in our cohort 7. The young lady was born in South Sudan. She later moved to Kenya in 2015 in search of quality education. Ever since, she has been residing at her aunt’s homestead. Her aunt ails from ulcers while her uncle, owns a small shop back in Sudan. Ayak’s parents, have no way of intervening in her upbringing as they are struggling to make ends meet as well.

With support from her teachers, the young lady managed to score 389 marks out of the 500 maximum score. She was the top student in her school. The interview panel at Affecto Foundation saw her determination as she explained she had no one to cater for her education but her dream of becoming an engineer is still alive.

We can’t wait to see her dreams come into fruition. We can’t wait to see Ayak empowering her family back in South Sudan and the community at large.
