Desperate times call for desperate measures:

James is one of our students who actualized the quote above.

He studied under a scholarship and he managed to score 405 marks out of the possible 500 in his KCPE examination. Since the scholarship only catered for his primary education, James was left stranded even after scoring such high marks.

One month after students were admitted to high school, Affecto Foundation spotted his story on the media. He was desperate to join the high school he secured a place in and when he couldn’t find any means to, the zealous young man decided to open up a workshop.

Affecto foundation saw his thirst for success and we decided to come to his rescue by sponsoring his education. James is now settled in high school and best of all, he scored an A plain when he joined the school. He is also our first beneficiary from Kenya’s newest tribe, The Shona.

Thanks to the $2,096.94 raised through the GlobalGiving campaign, 113 students including James have been able to settle in their schools and focus on their studies. Nothing makes us happier than seeing candles of hope being rekindled for these students.
