When Onyx's health began to decline, her family feared the worst. A visit with a Second Chance vet provided answers so she can enjoy her golden years comfortably.

Household budgets are under siege. Offering affordable veterinary care to help keep pets in their homes is more important than ever. Second Chance has four full-service veterinary hospitals that provide affordable veterinary for all care from checkups to life saving surgeries. We also offer low-cost vaccine and spay & neuter programs to keep pets healthy.
When Onyx's health began to decline, her family felt they had no other options for their sweet 18-year-old cat. Diagnostics gave our veterinarian the answer - Onyx is hyperthyroid. With medication, Onyx's thyroid levels can be managed so she can comfortably live out her remaining years. Onyx and her mom were ecstatic to leave together. We are grateful for your support which makes happy endings like this possible.
Helping Pets in the Community
Second Chance brings veterinary care directly to pets in the community, ensuring the health and well-being of all pets, particularly those in low-income communities. Local pet vaccine clinicsmakes it possible for pets to receive essential vaccinations that protect them from diseases such as rabies, distemper, and parvo. These vaccines are not only necessary for the pets' health but also prevent the spread of disease among other animals and humans.
Homebound to the Rescue is a lifeline for low-income seniors who face financial and mobility challenges that can prevent them from seeking medical help for their furry companions. Homebound to the Rescue works with community management to bring free veterinary care to senior communities, enabling seniors to ensure their pets stay healthy and happy. This program is funded through individual gifts and grants.
Healthy pets contribute to happy and healthy communities. With your support, we can provide affordable medical care to pets, ensuring that every pet, regardless of socioeconomic status, has access to the care they need to thrive.
