ONG ED hopes to initiate a project to fight the spread of Covid-19 in Benin by improving the general health of the villagers. Through the support of this program, we will boost the immune system of about 530,500. After detecting nutrient deficiencies, we will give advice on diet, sanitation, and provide education on measures to strengthen their immunity and prevent the spread of Covid-19. As there is no Covid-19 vaccination yet, the best way to address the spread is through preventative measures
The Covid-19 impact is especially great for peasants and students in the countryside of Benin (Africa) because of the remoteness of these villages and lack of health information, communication and education. The rural health system is very precarious. Therefore, underprivileged people become more vulnerable to Covid-19 and other diseases.
This project will strengthen the natural immune system of 530,500 peasants and their schoolkids in 367 disadvantaged Benin villages through improved diet and sanitation. Latrines will be built in family compounds in areas that rarely have them. Public schools that lack proper latrines and hand washing areas will be equipped. Also the project will provide nutritional food and primary healthcare to populations that are at greatest risk- orphans, schoolkids and the elderly.
With your generosity, this project will work to stop the spread of Covid-19 in 367 villages by increasing the general health of the population and improving sanitation. The public health education and construction of latrines will not only address the current epidemic, but the many contagious diseases such as cholera, chickenpox, tuberculosis, Ebola, Lassa fever which often arise in the Republic of Benin (Africa).
