Helping Orphans in Bauchi, Nigeria

By Noah Kim | LI Intern

Dear Benevolent Donors and Contributors,

Leadership Initiatives would like to thank you again for everything you’ve done to support this team. As you’re all aware, nonprofit organizations are so reliant on (and grateful for!) the benevolence of supporters like you to help us in our mission. This close relationship between our success and your personal generosity is why we cannot overstate how much we appreciate both your financial and emotional support.

Our working relationship with the orphanage is a new one, and these donations are truly the ones that matter. Even the smallest contributions mean the world of difference to us, the orphanage managers, and the orphans themselves. For instance, even just a $10.00 donation feeds an orphan for a week (and, statistically speaking, a donation of $2.50 -- aka the price of a small coffee -- keeps a small belly full for almost two days).

Over this past summer, students at LI's 2019 International Leadership and Business Summit (ILBS) worked with the orphanage to establish new methods of educating the orphans, providing them with the opportunity to learn various subjects while still having fun. Donations to James Madison High School's partnership with the orphanage will not only help maintain the orphanage itself but will also go toward the team's ongoing project that will contribute to the overall betterment of the orphans' lives. Your encouragement of the James Madison High School and their goal to help this orphanage is truly changing lives across the globe.

As we’ve mentioned before, we’d love your input or suggestions on how this team can best aid the orphanage. We here at Leadership Initiatives are nothing if we are not propelled by an environment of creativity, and your ideas may very well be the next solution needed to truly change lives. Please contact Executive Director Marshall Bailly at mbailly@lichange.org to give them your insight or to learn more about the steps being taken to help this orphanage. Again, we couldn’t do it without you!

Wishing you and your family a wonderful day,
