Dear benefactor!

We take this opportunity today to send you a warm greeting and share with you the story of one of our beneficiaries, whose life has greatly improved thanks to your generous support.

Aaron is a 12-year-old boy who lives with his mother and younger brother. His mother does not have the support of her children's father and has to work full time to cover their needs. When he entered the Albergue, Aarón was overweight. The food at home was mainly based on flour and junk food, since Aaron and his little brother spent most of their time alone. The family's eating habits were not appropriate for the children’s optimal development; Aaron had no established meal times and his diet was not varied or balanced.

Through the nutritional assessment carried out on Aarón upon his admission to the Albergue, a personalized comprehensive Nutrition Program was developed and implemented. This program ensured that Aaron ate three meals a day with two healthy snacks and that he did not eat junk food. The child was also encouraged to be physically active during the week. As part of the program, we also worked with Aarón's mother, giving her a basic course in nutrition and cooking. The aim was to improve the food that Aarón receives during weekends when he is with his family.

After almost 2 years at the Albergue, Aarón has shown significant progress in terms of weight and physical condition. He has managed to improve his eating habits, he has specific schedules for his meals, and now has a varied diet with adequate portions for his age, weight and size. All this has generated positive results at school, Aaron has improved his grades and has in general, better academic performance and motivation to continue learning in class.

We want to thank you for the effort you make to support children like Aarón!

Thanks to you, now he and other children enjoy better health and can have more opportunities for happiness.
