Native American Women: Voices Across & What's Next

For over 15 years, 3 Generations has made films about critical social justice issues: genocide, sex trafficking, Native American justice, refugees, ecocide, veterans, and criminal justice. Through film, we enable those to record their experiences as an act of healing, a call to action, and historical evidence for future generations. Our work has shown us how crucial providing a platform for these stories is.

3 Generations is committed to supporting the rights, culture, land, and health of all Native American tribes in the United States. Our focus on Native American justice began in 2010, emerging from our work on sex trafficking. We partnered with the Minnesota Indian Women’s Resource Centre and produced two short films, Lost Hope and Native Silence. For our feature documentary A Different American Dream, we worked with the MHA Nation in North Dakota to address the damage the oil industry has inflicted on their tribal land.

Our fight for Native people has always been a fight against genocide. We focus on sharing the personal stories of survivors of genocide across the globe and across decades, acting as both a call for justice and a call for healing for those populations. Storytelling empowers and raises awareness throughout the world. This is evident in our latest feature documentary HERE LIVED and supported by our campaign Survivors of Genocide. Additionally, our advocacy for women and the right to equal and accessible reproductive healthcare continues through our campaign Defending Reproductive Justice. Through this campaign, we continue to bring awareness to how crucial reproductive healthcare is, and how those without access are put in positions to make dire decisions. We bring new stories to light that illustrate why reproductive justice matters for us all, including the voices of Native women.

3 Generation will continue to focus on the disproportionate violence Native women and girls face and hope you continue to be a part of our 3G community. To continue supporting our issues and to stay updated on our work, please visit our website, 3generations.org, connect with us through email, and engage with us on social media. We thank you for your ongoing support and generosity.
