One of the most important aspect of our career guidance program is to create links between the world of word and our youth, and our mentoring program is a great way to do so! Students can be paired with volunteers from our corporate partners to discover a business sector, create their own network, develop their English speaking skills and maybe create a friendly relationship !
Discover Maxime's testimony, paired with Kathleen for a few months to develop his English oral skills.
“ I was paired with Kathleen and was really amazed by her patience and kindness. We have been having our conversations every Friday morning and it really has helped me gain self-confidence in English.
Last year, I was Au Pair in London and sometimes I struggled to speak because I was afraid to make mistakes or use the wrong words – language can be a strong barrier when interacting with people you don’t know. Thanks to Kathleen, I felt comfortable learning. She was there to listen and help. I didn’t feel judged, so, I felt more and more at ease when speaking English with her. I realized that I was making great progress, with more complex sentences and I was improving my comprehension skills as well. I was really thrilled with the experience and Kathleen and I stayed in touch when I went back to Saint-Etienne.
I definitely recommend this experience to any young person who would like to improve their English in a nice and kind space..”
