Final Report on Integrated Rural Development Project (IRDP)

Project Withdrawal Meetings and Sustainability

In order to smooth transition from the intervention villages since the project neared completion (2015-2018), meetings were held with all stakeholders – PRI members, community & religious leaders, SHG Groups, School authorities, Health & ICDS functionaries.

• For sustainability of the efforts and initiatives made in project locations, Village Health Sanitation & Nutrition Committee (VHSNC) was made functional and connected with PRI members and health worker. 
• Youth Forums were established in all three villages wherein graduates of Vocational Training Center actively participated. The platform is intended to sustain the efforts invested with youth.
• Endline impact assessment was carried out by 3rd agency across all intervention locations.

Following activities were held during the last quarter (September - December, 2018)

Health

• 3 health clinics were organized reaching out to 171 patients.
• Total 55 children (0-6 years) were gone through health checkups and received treatment.
• Extensive home visits and follow ups were carried out to 405 homes.
• Six health awareness sessions were organized wherein 110 participants attended. 

Nutrition

• Two cooking demonstration classes were conducted, 78 community women participated in the sessions.

Capacity Building of Panchayti Raj Institution (PRI)

• Over the period of time, PRI members were provided regular trainings on government schemes & services, process to avail those services, role of the PRI for development of the village, connecting the community with public services. During reporting period, an impact analysis was done to assess the impact of the trainings and how PRI members can take the work further. 
• PRI members were also engaged in reforming & activating Village Health Sanitation & Nutrition Committee in all three villages.  
• Two Panchayti Raj Institution (PRI) members attended an International Conference hosted by Sukarya on Public Health & Nutrition at FICCI, New Delhi. They shared experiences of Sukarya’s impact in intervention villages.   

Women Empowerment & Livelihood

• Meetings were held with 64 Self Help Group members from 5 SHG groups to explore possibility of Federation. A cadre of lead women is formed to sustain the group and further leverage the knowledge build through integration of health & nutrition.
• 3 women tailoring units under Micro Entrepreneurship are running successfully in 3 villages. The women entrepreneurs were provided training to expand & sustain their business.      

Linking Community with Government Schemes and Services

• Sukarya collaborated with government Integrated Child Development Services department and celebrated National Nutrition Month to sensitize community on nutrition. The event was attended by 50 participants.
• 96 community members were benefitted with government schemes & services like Janani Suraksha Yojna, MGNREGA, Bhamasha Yojna etc.
