At Inspiring Girls we want to ensure that the work we do is making a difference. We have worked with all our country teams to compile impact assessments and case studies to see the tangible difference the charity makes on the lives of young girls around the world. Keep reading to hear from two of the exceptional girls we have worked with.
“Inspiring Girls has given me access to incredible possibilities that, as a young black woman, I may never have otherwise had access to. I want other girls to be able to have access to the same opportunities.” - Ayla, 14
“Inspiring Girls International is an organisation that not only theoretically speaks about the problems that affect girls all around the globe, but actually implements its ideas.”
Marija, 16

Ayla is 14 years old and lives in Brazil. She started participating in Inspiring Girls activities in June 2020 when she was selected for the Sprint Development for Teenagers programme. Ayla says “the course lasted a month and completely changed my life, it gave me access to the work of Inspiring Girls in Brazil and meant that I could get involved in the International Young Ambassadors Network”.
She describes how the work she has done with Inspiring Girls has changed the way she sees her own future: “for a long time I believed that the place where I came from had already decided my fate. It’s very difficult for girls like me - black girls who come from where I do - to think about their future or professional careers. Inspiring Girls gave me the chance to connect with women, who regardless of where they came from, managed to change their story. This has made me feel better and more confident about my life”
She went on to say “Inspiring Girls has given me access to incredible possibilities that, as a young black woman, I may never have otherwise had access to. I want other girls to be able to have access to the same opportunities.”

Marija is 16 years old and has been working with Inspiring Girls in Serbia since 2017, her involvement in the charity started when an Inspiring Girls speed networking event took place at her school.
She believes “that the work that Inspiring Girls does is crucial for the future of many girls who are not aware of their potential and possibilities. This campaign also motivates young women and gives them a chance to step out of the comfort zone created by the stereotypes of our society and to understand that only they are responsible for the direction in which they will develop - professionally and personally.”
She told us that “the work that Inspiring Girls does changed the way that I view my future, primarily because Inspiring Girls International is an organisation that not only theoretically speaks about the problems that affect girls all around the globe, but actually implements its ideas.”
Marija was recently appointed to be one of our International Young Ambassadors, her strong belief that girls’ voices should be heard encouraged her to apply for the programme. She noted that it was “a good example of bringing ideals and dreams to reality, because most of the Young Ambassadors were just girls listening to a lecture held at their school not even imagining that they would be a part of this big international campaign, and help inspire other girls themselves, which is, I think, the most beautiful work one can do.”
