Last week we received a huge donation towards the renovation of our new education centre.
We now have enough money to start the building work!
This is probably the biggest gift Calcutta Rescue has ever received, so we’re extremely grateful to the trustees of this well-respected and socially conscious Indian company. They took the time to visit all of our projects, speak to our staff and find out exactly how we’re transforming the lives of Kolkata’s poorest people.
If you’ve made a donation, from anywhere around the world, you are a part of this success and we’re incredibly grateful – thank you. Your faith in our work really is inspiring.
Over the next 12 months this 150-year-old former house will be turned into a bright, spacious and fun learning space for the students of our current Number 10 education centre. Our carefully designed plans (you can see the ground floor design) include open terraces, activity areas and a computer room.
We’ll keep you informed about how the renovation is going, through photos, videos and stories of the people involved.
